Mini task 1

For this first mini task we had to look at how the Caravan Gallery lay out their postcards and try to create one in this style but based on Burton. My original idea for this was to try and photos of beer bottles and cans as Burton is known for its beer making, but I couldn’t find any at all so I decided to change this idea and take photos of different industries around Burton. I took photos of one of the breweries, and then I took photos of the logo of Coopers Square shopping centre and the Brewhouse. I also took a photo of the marmite jar down by the library to symbolise the marmite industry that began in Burton. I also took a photo of the Abbey Trail sign to note the Burton Abbey, which was just around the corner from where this image was taken. I then decided to give the background a yellow colour due to Burton Albion playing in yellow.

Week by week plan

Week 1: Complete introduction, brainstorm initial ideas, begin research and take initial photographs, begin writing proposal and evidence research of health and safety regulations.

Week 2: Complete proposal, continue with research and photo shoots. Evidence all technical notes and refine and reflect over photo shoots with contact sheets and evaluations of the shoots.

Week 3: Continue research and photo shoots and continue to refine and reflect.

Week 4: Complete research, continue photo shoots and refine and reflecting on them.

 Week 5: Begin final photo shoots and continue experimenting with the shoots. Experiment with presentation of final images and select final images. Continue to refine and reflect on photo shoots.

Week 6: Work towards completion of the assignment, complete all working progress and evidence and write an overall evaluation.
